  • KL Rahul Sends Sudden England Tour Message To BCCI After IPL Heartbreak, Report Says He Wants To…

KL Rahul has sent out a message to the BCCI, telling the board of his intention to play the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions.

One of the most versatile cricketers in the game, KL Rahul, couldn’t inspire his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Delhi Capitals, to the competition’s playoffs. DC eventually finished 5th, just one spot outside the knockouts, leaving players and fans debating about the ‘what-if’ moments. However, instead of sulking on the failed pursuit of the top 4, Rahul has reportedly decided to join international duty by making himself available for the India A tour of England. Rahul has reportedly told the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he wants to play for India A against England Lions in the second unofficial Test.

The series gets underway with the first match starting on May 30 in Canterbury. While Rahul can’t make the squad in time for that match, he is said to be keen on a place in the team for the second match. The intention has also been informed to the BCCI and the selection committee chief, Ajit Agarkar.

“He will be flying on Monday and will be playing a second unofficial test with the India A side. As he is part of the senior men’s team, which will be playing five Test matches in the series, these matches will give him game time and match practice,” the Indian Express quoted a source as saying.

The second unofficial Test between England Lions and India A begins on June 06. The senior Indian team will then be involved in an intra-squad match in Beckenham on June 13. The first Test of the 5-match series starts in Leeds on June 20.

In a recent interview to Sky Sports, Rahul had also spoken of his love for the longest format of the game.

“I love red ball cricket. I mean you can’t take that away from me or anyone who’s part of that Indian team. Everyone that I’ve spoken to on that Indian team, we’re all on the same page as to Test cricket is number one for us. We love playing Test cricket and that hasn’t changed for me,” Rahul had said.

“I grew up watching Test cricket. I grew up watching you guys play for England. I used to wake up at five in the morning and watch Test cricket in Australia with my father. He loved watching cricket as well,” he added.

Elon Musk’s appearance was overshadowed by allegations in the New York Times that he had engaged in heavy drug use while on the campaign trail for Trump in 2024.

Billionaire Elon Musk sparked fevered speculation when he turned up with a black eye for his Oval Office farewell with US President Donald Trump on Friday.

But the South African-born tech magnate said he had a simple explanation: his son had punched him in the face.

“I was just horsing around with lil’ X, and I said, ‘go ahead punch me in the face,’” 53-year-old Musk told reporters when asked how he got the shiner.

“And he did. Turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face actually is…” he added, before tailing off.

“I didn’t really feel much at the time but I guess it bruises up.”

Trump hosted the press conference with Musk to mark the Tesla boss’s last day at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk had expressed increasing disillusionment with the job but said he would remain a “friend and advisor.”

Musk’s appearance was overshadowed by allegations in the New York Times that he had engaged in heavy drug use while on the campaign trail for Trump in 2024.

Trump said he “didn’t notice” the purple bruise next to Musk’s right eye, but added: “X could do it, if you knew X.”

  • Colombia’s U-Turn On Pak Deaths, Day After Shashi Tharoor’s “Disappointment”

Colombia will issue a statement of support for India’s position after the country withdrew their statement condoling the deaths in Pakistan on May 7.

Colombia is scheduled to issue a statement in strong support of India’s position on terror, in a pivot from the South American country’s condolences for the deaths in Pakistan after India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7.

Leading an all-party delegation visit to Colombia, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, “They have withdrawn their statement that disappointed us earlier and will issue a statement of strong support for our position.” This comes a day after he raised concern over Colombia’s stance and said New Delhi was disappointed by it.

Former Indian Ambassador to the United States and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that the delegation’s detailed explanation helped reverse the Colombian stance. “This morning we had a detailed interaction with the acting Foreign Minister and our leader and the entire team made specific points to them explaining to them the timeline which perhaps to an extent they might have missed out. The importance of Colombia, apart from other reasons, is also that it will be a member of the Security Council soon,” Mr Sandhu told ANI.
